I’ve design a new logo for Krakow city guide, the online touristic guide about this wonderful city from Poland, Eastern Europe. You must definitely see the historic center of this city of art and culture, the most important touristic destination from Poland. Tourist are coming here to visit even from Japan. Worth at list a visit.

I’ve finished the logo of Cinque Terre Tourism.

To make the logo I’ve study this beautiful region of Italy, Ligury, called also the “Italian Riviera”, no wonder the Lord Byron said that “is the paradise on earth”, impressive landscapes, gastronomy and people. Love it.

The painting of the Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli is located in the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence.
The goddess Venus, naked on a shell, it rises from the foam of the sea and is driven and heated by the breath of Zephyr…
I really love this painting, the composition…it’s one of my favorites
Sandro Botticelli, his real name was Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi (lived in Florence, between March 1, 1445 – , May 17, 1510) was an Italian painter.
Is interesting how strong brands take inspiration from this wonderful paintings like venere.com

I love Romania! Why? Because is my country, that’s why. Because is beautiful and unique, with more then 2000 years of history,(my ancestors are Burebista and Decebal-”The Brave One” king of Dacia- you can find his face on Trajan’s Column in Rome )

Faster Web Sites Solutions

Ho can we improve the speed loading of our websites?

Recently I’ve read a book: High Performance Web Sites written by Steve Souders (Chief Performance Yahoo).

After reading this book I’ve apply some optimizations for the improvement of the download speed in different browser. One in particular i want to talk about is reducing the http requests by using one simple css image (css sprite) for the the entire layout (if simple one). Normally the browser can do a limited numbers of http request at the time , some 4 some 8 some more, depends on the browser and browser version. If i have one big image for the layout, i will have only one http request instead of 20 or more. Another thing that I’ve notice is that 20 small .gif or .png images weighs more (3-4 times more) than the single big image so in terms of band usage you will gain also. When you do such a simple optimization the benefits are a lot, because you live space for http requests for other elements that need to be downloaded such javascripts, html or others.

Cortina d’Ampezzo is the “Dolomite Pearl”, a beautiful ski resort in north Italy, surrounded by the Dolomite Mountains. In 1956 in Cortina were held Winter Olympics while in 1988 it came second on the list of preferred locations, immediately after Calgary, Canada.

The website for this city i’ve just finished to design. The color palette were inspired using an image representing the Dolomiti Mountains, the tool i’ve used was a color palette generator

Corfu the key to self discovery, when i say this is true. This is the perfect place for dreaming, thinking, meditating or relaxing. I just finished the layout for the guide of Corfu. The colors are cold and warm like the sea and the sun…blue, orange, green…you’ll find plany of them on the website. The design is very intuitive so from this point of view we don’t have much usability problems.
The web site is in 5 languages(will add more this year), and you’ll find information about accomodation, tourist attractions, culture, mythology. Only the design is finished 100%, we are stil adding content to it .

When you look to the sky you see the past! It’s true, we know that the light travel with 300.000km/s so, when you look to Jupiter for example you see in fact how was Jupiter a half an hour ago, so when you look deeper into the universe, you see the universe in the past, some stars that you see does not exist anymore. Firenze Tourism – design

In the past two weeks I’ve designed a layout for firenze-tourism.com, a travel guide about this beautiful and interesting city from Tuscany, Italy. The color palette are really the colors of Tuscany region , dark orange-brown like the roofs of the ancient houses from the historic center of Florence, olive – green and so on. I got to say that lately i visited also the city. The Dome of Florence is huge, nothing compare to what you see on the travel guides, has also an impressive architecture. I recommend a visit to this city.
The web site is available in 5 languages, and you’ll find information about accomodation, tourist attractions. The web site is not complete, only the design is finished.
